G'day, A great read... highly recommended! Packed full of facts along with all reference sources. No rewriting of history here to push a fanciful PC agenda. There is some great information about the Blackadders attempts to mine their alluvial deposit near Springs Junction. And ... there is an interesting read on the Blackadders Mt Baldy hard rock find. This deposit must be one of the most highly prospective areas of reef gold in New Zealand where a modern metal detector could be successfully utilized. There is also loads of pertinent information about the Reefton goldfield that would assist the modern electronic gold fossickers who have been detecting, with varying success, around the Reefton area in recent years.
