LINZ (Land Information New Zealand) access agreement
LINZ ( www.linz.govt.nz ) recently made the process of applying for an access agreement to a river bed dredging claim (Mining Permit) more involved to now include environmental and other aspects. And, following are the new requirements of LINZ:
In considering applications for access to Crown Land the Minister for Land Information NZ takes into account a number of aspects including the following:
I'm presently in the process of writting an access agreement application for a dredge miner so he can have legal access to his granted river dredging claim (Mining Permit) and I'm unsure of the extent of information required by LINZ these days. Is there anyone who has recently done an access agreement application to LINZ who could advise me of what amount of detail is required so the access agreement is readily granted. And can anyone give me any tips to avoid complications that would delay the granting of the agreement. You can contact me by email if preferred ... rkcinnz (at) Gmail.com .

In considering applications for access to Crown Land the Minister for Land Information NZ takes into account a number of aspects including the following:
- The mining activity to be undertaken on the land access is applied for; and
- The proposed programme of work, including the type and duration of work to be carried out on the Crown Land and the likely impact/adverse effect on the land or the owner or occupier of the land; and
- The compensation and safeguards against any likely adverse effects proposed; and
- The payment of a bond if any to ensure reinstatement of any damage to the land arising out of the Access Arrangement.
- The maintenance of public access to Crown Land. The applicant will be responsible for ensuring any activity does not create unnecessary dangers to the public using the land or that if it does, suitable warnings are provided.
