G'day Boaraxa,
You can clean a demand valve (and, I guess air lines if you wish) with a solution of 50% vinegar and 50% water. There should be a detailed post about this in the Archives from the previous forum on MSN and I'll have a look for it when I get time.
The search feature on this forum does not work at all for me and its becoming really annoying not being able to do a search. I'll have to soon contact the forum providers and see if something can be done about it as having a working search feature will make running this forum much easier.
Regards, Rob (RKC)

G'day Boaraxa, Just immediately after posting the above reply I remember that the information you wanted is is the "DREDGING TIPS" at golddredgingforum.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=articalsofinterest&action=display&thread=26and is as follows. "CLEANING DEMAND VALVES
The method most commonly employed by professional dredgers to clean demand valves is by soaking the valve in a dilute solution of vinegar (apx 50% vinegar and 50% water). For a more thorougher cleaning, the valve can be first soaked in soapy water, then rinsed and then soaked in a solution of dilute vinegar.

Its important never to attempt to clean a demand valve by immersing it in hot water. Hot water will damage a demand valve beyond repair as some of the plastic parts of the valve can easily melt." Regards, Rob (RKC)
