G'day Homesouth,
This will be an interesting auction to follow! The gold picture does looks familiar ... I think I might even have seen it previously on the web ;D.
With this auction, the "ones that get off on pepper gold" will again be lining up to offer their theories on the recovery of fine gold. Expect to read and be bored by even more loopy thesis on how to make a fortune from fine gold. Coming up with theory's on fine gold recovery is becoming an industry in itself ... but, of all the theories I've seen written up on the Internet I'm yet to see anything new that has progressed from a theory to being successfully used by real-world miners. It has often seemed to me that the theoretical miners live in another world where real and demonstratable results don't seem to matter and the fun is solely in theorizing (but its all harmless enough, I guess).
Regards, Rob (RKC)

Hi Rob We need some of the boys in the back room to come up with a way of getting rid of the blacksand on beaches and central otago. Been thinking of all sorts. The best I saw on fine gold was a guy using polar fleece , think I had a pic up on the last forum. Pretty sure it was from NZ. But working fine gold I can see why there were so many pubs on the coast in the rush days It would drive a fella to drink. Reminds me of a saying about avoiding strong drink, it makes you shoot at tax collectors (fill in person of your choice) and miss. Cheers

Hey
Think the guy may be stretching the conditions a little on his mining permit which states " Small Motorised Equipment"
Not to sure if a 20 Tonne Digger falls under that class..
Cheers
