Gday Rob, this is what any clear thinking miner would call" Blackmail " the act gives the pen pusher the power to tell you what they want you to do, not what you want to do. We are in dire need of a champion. While I'm here can anyone give me a lead to a Public Liability Agent Please.Cheers.

G'day addergran,
The article pictured in the above post was good to see in a main-stream newspaper. At last there is, at the very least, an acknowledgement in a newspaper that the permitting process that exists is nothing more than a mining ban (although a Claytons ban). And its nothing but laughable that NZP&Ms would make the pronouncement that " it would like to see a continuation of mining on the West Coast".
For anyone brave enough to apply for a commercial Mining Permit (for gold) at present, there is about zero change of it getting to the stage of any dirt being moved. With all the sabotaging by NZP&Ms bureaucrats that will be sure to occur, any permit can be dragged out so long that the time involved in jumping through all the hoops would kill it for any applicant (who wants to stay sane).
The sad fact is that there is no solution for miners ... at least not in my lifetime. And anyone who does have a claim should make the best of it!
Regards, Rob (RKC)
