Hi Rob, looks like is Victoria 1990 all over! The ban of gold dredging and distraction of the livelihood for 3000 self-employed people. Advance NZ to unemployed! Lubo PNG G'day Lubo, One common thread I am noticing that seems to run through all the modern anti-mining agenda, from Victoria in the 80s, to these days, is all the hysterical women behind it. There was Joan Kirner in Victoria in the late 80s and early 90s who was the most vigorous of all Victorian MPs in pushing for a total ban on dredge mining, who left the Labor government in deep crisis, with some of the state's financial institutions on the brink of insolvency, and with a budget deficit unsustainably high and growing, through to these days when Eugenie Sage is pushing another hysterical full-on ban of mining on NZs West Coast. An example of a hystrical woman greens senator m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1872734466081510&id=600891366599166m.youtube.com/watch?v=zsDLno14NqYRegards, Rob (RKC)

G'day, If you want to know about mining gold talk to a Pearson ! Dave Pearson was mining in the seventies, his sons Barry and Robin have spent their lives mining.
Here Robin shares his thoughts on the nonsense coming out of Wellington. He reckons only Shane Jones can save the Coast from being converted to a play ground for the greens.
Gold in 2012 was 10.3%, in 2017 it was 5.1% -- NZ total GDP of gold during the period has remained static- therefore suggests less resource available - access to conservation estate stewradship land is critical.
if we get share back to 2012 levels the impact on west coast GDP = +$40.1Mwww.facebook.com/coastersclub/videos/1020075054815781/?hc_ref=ARR1WIpephSmnX1Rj9LVIW6lQMwk4iXNoMvOCEamSCCSNt3x99rATRLj9i8Adv5fn7w&fref=nfRegards, Rob (RKC)

So it does not surprise me at all this news.
NZ is part of the Commonwealth, right. It means they follow the common goals and implement it as necessary. It is like Canada, dredging is prohibited at most locations, and even some provinces in total. And even if you allowed to dredge then you have capacity restriction. 2.5" max.
Of course you can debate what the real reason is, but I don't believe any word that comes from such government. Now that the world is turning against the Western (US/UK) dictation, the Gold is more in demand like never before. Russia / China / Africa are mining like never before, and buying like never before. The Gold price is artificial suppressed as we now, while the real price (spot) is much higher.
Take Keene for example, why they still selling big dredges? Simple, because the big money comes from NON western countries like Africa. And who is the biggest refiner/raw buyer for a ridiculous low price? Exactly Switzerland / Hong Kong. Would Keene survive if it had no foreign customer? Maybe 20 years ago, but as of today laws are changed, so no I don't think so.
Gold is the world money. Ask yourself why over the years, countries implementing structural mining bans for small miners. Except for big fat mining corporation? Because the government (riches of the world) can control the flow and implement extraction rules. Arguments about preservation and all those nonsense is the easiest reason to give. Because people are not aware how the real world looks like, because they believe any ****. Little by little people are caged, does not matter in what industry or branch.
Meanwhile they rob and rape third wold countries (setup gigantic mining pits) and collect the gold, and ship it out of the country and bribe local tribe heads. Yes it still happens (oil, gold, copper, gas). Not to mention the negative environmental effect and psychological effect on the locals.
In a society where the payment method is a currency (x), Gold is the escape, the freedom, the guarantee for anyone who can have it. Because the system needs gold, it's the only backup, while the rest can be replaced, even oil can be replaced, but not gold. If government restrict access to Gold, then they force people to do labour other then mining to participate in the system to pay of the debt, what debt? Indeed your governments debt, because governments do loan money from world banks. If you have access to gold, you out of the system and you don't pay tax at all. WOOOW !! Yep, true.
Well, most people like it and don't even care, they enjoy the system and live happily. Example; 99% of the world believes Einstein invented The Theory of relativity, again wrong. It was his girlfriend who had the solution, who was a math wizard. Of course at that time, who believed a woman, nobody. Einstein was pretty clever but his girl was more clever.
Anyways, thanks for the update.

G'day goldentruffel, There is no doubt that there are many clever women who contribute greatly to society. However ... women collectively vote overwhelmingly to increase the size of government, which then produces all of what is wrong these days, including, (however minor in the overall scheme of things) the shutting down of small-scale mining. Anyone interested in this topic should look at this video ... Regards, Rob (RKC) Regards, Rob (RKC)
